“George” is the story of a transgender fourth-grader coming to grips with the decision to begin telling the community who she really is. George is a middle grade book about a fourth grader who is determined to be the person she wants to be. George may look like a boy, but she knows deep down that she’s a girl. George fears she’ll have to conceal this feeling forever, but an opportunity comes along that’s too good to pass up: the school play. George desperately wants to be cast as Charlotte in the school production of Charlotte’s Web. She confronts her teacher, the administration, backstage politics, and wardrobe adjustments in order to land the role and tell the world who she really is.

Alex (who uses the singular pronoun they) was born in New York, has lived all over the United States, and currently resides in California.
